Happy almost Thanksgiving 2018! It just does not seem right that there are only 60 more days before 2019 hits upon us? I have often written here in this monthly article how much has changed for the better in North Central starting with all the new restaurants on Central Avenue, 7th Street and 16th Street. Additionally, watching Uptown Plaza, where my old nightclub, The Jockey Club was located for eight years (1987- 1995) has revitalized Central and Camelback into an incredible location filled with a mix of excellent retail, restaurants and one of the best grocery stores in the Valley, AJ'S. I am proud to say that a 2013 custom home that we listed a couple of months ago located at 6755 N. Central Ave just sold for $2,280,000 – the highest per-square-footage price ever at $459 per foot. The home is 4,968 square feet and built by Rick Stark, who owns North Central based Starion Custom Residences. Rick and wife, Alex, designed an incredible home for their family with the best quality of everything throughout both inside and outside. There is a huge demand today for quality luxury homes in North Central and the only thing holding builders back is the lack of land, which forces some builders to tear down older existing homes. My request for some builders and flippers is PLEASE be consistent throughout with your construction. I was fortunate to be ranked the Number One Realtor in Maricopa County for 2017 by the Phoenix Business Journal for number of homes sold, which was 117. In 2018 we have sold 102 home so far ranging from $55,000 to $3.29 million (I have to feed my dogs so I will sell anything!) We have actually sold eight homes over $1 million this year, including two homes over $3 million. I currently have 36 homes for sale in all price ranges and have listed 125 homes in 2018. I am very fortunate to have an assistant WHO has been with me for more than 19 years, Kathy Wright, who has an incredible work ethic and keeps me organized. I also have another amazing person who works with me and her name is Juliann Lieb (Xavier class of 2010), my 27- year-old daughter. Juliann sets up our open house schedule for realtors every week, checks our vacant houses weekly to make sure that everything is in good shape and she also has been an excellent buyer's agent.
