Preparing Your Home For Sale: Remodeling and Home Staging

If you are thinking about potentially updating some areas of your home or doing a complete remodel, I have tips that will save you money while adding value to your home.

First, I recommend starting wtith a market analysis to see where home values are in the area and what potential increase you could see from remodeling or doing some updates. I frequently recommend simple remodeling and some staging to make a home show its best.

It's important to remember when we do home improvements we do it not only hoping to add value, but for our own enjoyment.  What you might spend money on another buyer won't see value in and therefore, a home may not sell for a higher price.  

Homes that sell in the shortest amount of time and for the highest price possible, are move-in ready, with repairs and remodeling complete and the home is tastefully decorated and furnished. 

First, determine your home-selling goals:   (1) to sell at a certain price point; (2) to sell within a specific time frame; or, (3) negotiate the terms of the sale.

Partial remodeling may provide a higher return on the investment, although in many  cases it just makes the rest of the house look dated. I'll work with you to make your house look it's best and assure you get the highest return possible.
