Arizona high school students must earn 22 credits to graduate, including credits in economics and American history. Arizona high school students take state end-of-course exams in English language arts and math. For more information, visit the Arizona Department of Education.
Arizona is home to many schools in the 2016 U.S. News Best High Schools rankings. Arizona's highest-ranked school is BASIS Scottsdale, located in the BASIS Schools Inc. District and about a half-hour drive from Arizona's capital of Phoenix.
To be eligible for a state ranking, a school must be awarded a national gold or silver medal.
