Misleading Information

I just heard a Redfin commercial that really bothers me.
It's a couple that were home shopping, saying how using Redfin saved them thousands of dollars in commission. This is a lie and a misleading commercial.
First of of all if you're BUYING a home you don't pay a realtor to find you a home. The sellers offer a commission to the buyers broker, that's how your realtor gets paid if you're purchasing. Furthermore the commercial talks about how they were able see each new listing as it comes available. Well this is also a bit of a stretch, while Redfin does funnel listings from the multiple listing service it sometimes takes days for properties to reach Redfin. REALTORS are your best source for finding a home. They belong to the MLS, your properties will come to you via email the moment a property becomes available. And you must set an appointment to see all listings listed by a realtor with a licensed real estate agent, and sometimes a home is not occupied by the owner and it may take a day or two to see it... so if you're looking to purchase rely on us, real people, not a computer...
The age of real estate is changing for sure. The agent/broker split is going away. That's why I have positioned myself with a company like Home Smart! All or more of the technology of a traditional broker, and we keep our commission. Which means I have more to invest in my marketing to sell your home and I can pass that savings on to you.
Thanks for listening! Kiss
