Marilou is passionate about helping people find the ideal property for their specific needs. Marilou was awarded the prestigious Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) designation by the National Association of Realtors in 2005, and is listed in the Who’s Who Book of International Real Estate. Having lived in many countries, she has an extensive background working with multi-cultural clients. In March 2010, Marilou received her Short Sale and Foreclosure Resource (SFR) certification. She is also a Certified Negotiation Expert (CNE).
Marilou Smith also known as Maria Lourdes Smith is originally from Cebu, Philippines. In between her travels to many countries, she has been actively involved in real estate as an investor and as a realtor for many years and specializes in international, residential, and investment properties. Marilou finished her Masters degree in Sociology from the University of the Philippines, and did her Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from St. Theresa's College in Cebu City, Philippines.
Marilou has lived in Egypt, Pakistan, Chad, and Lesotho. She is a long-time resident of Fort Collins and is involved with the international community. Marilou is past President of the Filipino American Association of Northern Colorado, Inc.(FAANCI), a non-profit organization. She continues to be active in various international groups in Fort Collins. She speaks English, Tagalog, Cebuano, and understands some Spanish and French. Marilou continues to travel extensively and has many stories to tell about her experiences in foreign countries. Marilou is a real Foodie and makes eating in and out of her home an adventure!
