Among the rolling hills and ponderosa pines, just 20 miles southeast of Denver, is the town of Parker. According to popular legend, Parker can trace its colorful history to the establishment of the Pine Grove Way Station around 1863. As a stage stop and later railroad depot, it was a Denver outpost. Today, it is still a Denver outpost. Located in the heart of horse country, it is the home of many equestrian centers.
For those seeking a horse property or ranch-style home, Elizabeth and Kiowa feature acres and acres of Colorado vistas. In "downtown" Parker, the new Parker Station, a commercial center with offices, shops and restaurants, is on the site of the original train depot. Known for its trademark five-globe streetlights, Parker has 20,000 residents and is continuously growing. Just minutes away is Canterbury golf course, selected in 1997 as one of the top 10 "Best New Affordable Courses" by Golf Digest.
