Spring Landscaping Tips for Home Sellers

Posted On: April 20th, 2017 3:25PM

It’s great your home is on the market, or about to be! You picked the ideal season; as we know Spring brings out the best in home buyers. Our Chicagoland plants, trees and soil take a beating during the long, albeit mild winter. A lovely drive-up can do wonders for making the best impression to potential buyers.

Here are a few Spring landscaping tips to help you present your home at its best.

Rake and herbicide: Perform a good raking. “Snow mold” can cause matted sections of grass and a light raking can take care of this. The grass should be 3-4 inches before your first mow. Speaking of mowing; have your mower serviced and blades sharpened. If needed, herbicide and seed.

Aerate your lawn: After being under the snow and ice for months, the lawn needs to breathe. Try renting an aerator, or hire a pro so your soil can have some air and soak up moisture. If you do tackle this yourself, be sure to wet the grass slightly so it’s damp.

Refill gravel and aggregate: sweep or rake gravel back where it goes and fill in with additional aggregate. Using low pressure on a pressure washer works well to remove algae or leaf stains from patios and walkways.  You can also try a liquid moss, mold, mildew and algae remover.  It Available at most hardware stores, you simply spray it on with a lawn sprayer.

Encourage new growth: Remove burlap from your trees/shrubs and prune dead branches to encourage new growth. Pull up last year’s annuals, along with the spent perennials. Thin the crowded beds but leave at least three stems per clump when dividing. Remove mulch once the threat of frost is past and think about fertilizing.

Add color: Plant or place a few containers of colorful pansies out now, but be sure to cover them if temp dip close to freezing.

How I Work to Sell Your Home

Posted On: March 28th, 2017 2:16PM

From the moment you make the decision to sell your home or investment property, until the sale is final, it is imperative that every step of the process is handled in a professional manner.

I specialize in working with sellers!

Here are several key elements that set my listing services apart from other agents.

  • My knowledge and experience of the local market, the Northwest Chicago suburbs and surrounding, has been a key factor in my success.
  • A keen eye allows me to suggest a few minor changes that will better showcase your property.
  • Good photographs will immediately be uploaded with your listing into my MLS database. These can also be viewed by buyers and other cooperative agents.
  • There is always an open line of communication between me and you. I keep you informed via whatever way you prefer: telephone, text message or email.
  • If a prospective buyer decides to move on to another property I will immediately follow up other leads. I have a continuous flow of clients seeking to buy in our surrounding areas.
  • Listening to your needs is important to me. Why are you selling? Are you in a hurry to sell? Are you not selling unless you get your price? I seek to answer all your questions; even those that you might be reluctant to ask. You might be unsure about something. That’s why I am here!
  • For me it is important that I am completely honest about the price that your home can fetch and how soon you can expect to sell. This stems from my knowledge of the market.
  • I work tirelessly and with integrity.

I would love to share all the details of my specialized and targeted marketing plan to sell your home with you. Contact me via email, [email protected], phone (847) 845-8272 or text anytime.
