Sun City West

Sun City West is Arizona’s most peaceful self-contained, and self-governed Active Adult community. Constructed between 1979 – 1997, Sun City West offers an abundance of recreation, shopping, places of worship, and a Del Webb Hospital; anyone who visits has found Sun City West to be an extraordinary value.  Sun City West Arizona is an unincorporated retirement community (55+) with 17,300 residences developed by Del Webb Corporation. Sun City West is home to approximately 35,000 people and four recreation centers, three indoor pools, three outdoor swimming pools, bowling, billiards, tennis courts, handball courts, pickleball courts, racquetball courts, pet park, softball field, over 100 established clubs, and many year-round activities.

Sun City West is home to 9 golf courses, including a private Country Club, four recreation centers, multiple swimming pools, over 100 chartered clubs, and many volunteer opportunities. There are nine golf courses in Sun City West. Pebblebrook, Grandview, Deer Valley, and Trail Ridge are championship courses. Stardust, Echo Mesa, and Desert Trails are of executive length.  Hillcrest Golf Club is owned by John Jacobs School of Golf and is open to all residents and the public. Briarwood Golf Course and Country Club in Sun City West’s only country club. Sun City

Sun City, Arizona, was the first 55+ active adult community in Arizona.  Plus, it was the first in the entire country. Del Webb, the developer, started in 1960, and it now has over 26,000 homes, 11 golf courses, and countless amenities and social clubs. Sun City is renowned for its incredible home values, low property taxes, and minimal association fees.

On New Year’s Day, 1960, Del Webb’s Sun City, Arizona, opened its doors to the public. The years of anticipation of a community for active adults led to an astonishing 100,000 visitors who toured the property on the first weekend. Sun City Homes sold 400 homes in the first month and 2,000 in the first year, making it one of Arizona’s most popular active adult communities. From 1960 to 1978, Del Webb continued to build a community that catered to the retirement dreams of thousands of Americans. According to Sun City Real Estate, this active adult community is now home to 40,000 full and part-time residents.

Despite constructing more newly established active adult communities in Arizona, Sun City, Arizona, remains a popular retirement destination.  The community is preferred by buyers who want low property taxes, reasonably priced homes, and mature landscaping in a good location near extensive shopping and close to the highway. These attributes, along with newly remodeled Sun City Homes and recreation centers, make this 55+ community a value that cannot be ignored.

Del Webb’s Sun City Grand residents cherish their smaller community for its newer homes and quiet, UN-congested location. Approximately 18 miles northwest of Phoenix, this Active Adult community is located within Surprise.

With four championship golf courses you can enjoy the 300+ days of sunshine.The Village Center is the recreational focal point of all activities in the community. It has a beautifully landscaped courtyard and cascading waterfalls that provide a serene setting to mingle with neighbors and attend community events. Corte Bella

Thoughtful and careful planning went into the unique character and ambiance that is Corte Bella. European-inspired architecture and Santa Barbara styling, along with elegant archways and colorful mosaics, create an oasis in the northwest area of the “Valley of the Sun.” Corte Bella’s single-family homes range from 1,154 square feet to 3,020 sq ft in size. The quiet sense of community is enjoyed at the Corte Bella Golf Club and Cibola Vista Resort and Spa. Corte Bella Country Club is a guarded and gated age-restricted (45+) community in Sun City West, Arizona, with resort amenities for the active adult residents.
