I am a California native who arrived in the Coachella Valley desert 20 years ago via Silicon Valley, continuing my high-tech career in Public Relations until switching to the tumultuous world of real estate 13 years ago. Palm Springs Valley home sales ended the 2017 year on an up-note with both sales and prices climbing steadily higher the past few years. Total home sales were up 14.2% in 2017: single-family home prices rose 8.3% while the median price of condos rose 7%. The median price for a Coachella Valley home has increased to an amazing $368,193.
2018 is continuing this steady upward trend in sales and prices, and opportunities abound for both home-sellers and those ready to purchase a primary or vacation home. The Coachella Valley housing market is a 50-50 mix of two discrete markets: owner-occupied and remote owners (2nd homes and investors). And, summer sales are now almost as robust as those during the traditional seasonal months, making the buying/selling market truly year-round.
