Batavia

Batavia is the oldest city in Kane County, Illinois.  It is also known as the Windmill City. Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory, a federal government-sponsored high-energy physics laboratory, is located in Batavia. 

 

Batavia is an award winning community.  In 2007, Business Week ranked Batavia #21 on a national list of the 50 best places in America to raise kids.  In 2009, Batavia was ranked #56 on CNN Money's Best Small Towns in the nation and in 2011, Batavia was voted by RelocateAmerica as one of the Top 100 Places to Live in America.  In 2015, for the third consecutive year, Batavia High School was designated a GRAMMY Signature School for excellence in music education.

Campton Hills

Campton Hills was established on May 14, 2007.  Campton Hills is bordered by St. Charles to the East, Lily Lake to the West, Elburn to the South and Elgin to the North.

Geneva

Geneva is home to the Kane County Cougars baseball club of the Midwest League and the Chicago Steel ice hockey club of the US Hockey League.  Annual events include Sweedish Days, Festival of the Vine, Geneva Film Festival and the Christmas Walk.


In 2013 Geneva was nominated by Bloomberg Business Week as the best place to raise a kid in Illinois.

South Elgin

South Elgin is a village in Kane County, Illinois. South Elgin was originally called Clintonville, in honor of early settler James Clinton. The name South Elgin was adopted in 1907.

 

In July 2007, Money magazine named South Elgin as 82nd of 100 entries in its "America's Best Places To Live" edition.

St. Charles

St. Charles is home of the Kane County Fair in July and the Kane County Flea Market the first Sunday and preceding Saturday of every month. Downtown St. Charles' Lincoln Park serves as the central location for two annual citywide events - the "Pride of the Fox RiverFest" in June and the "Scarecrow Festival" in October.  St. Charles is also home to the Arcada theatre.


Family Circle magazine named St. Charles #1 in its 2011 Annual Survey of Best Towns and Cities for families.
