Whitney Heights is a very desirable area in the heart of Metairie.  Close to Veterans blvd. and West Esplanade, this area boasts tree lined streets and a community feel.   Every retail need or restaurant is at your fingertips in Whitney Heights.

Drive along scenic Metairie Road to experience trendy restaurants and boutiques. A glimpse down any street will show statley oak trees and elegant houses.  From cottages to mansions, Old Metairie is a sought after community.  Drive through the Metairie Country Club area to see some of the most expensive homes in Metairie. 

LAKEVIEW

Lakeview is a very desirable part of New Orleans for young people especially.  There is much new construction since hurricaine Katrina, and a  new infux of families and professionals.  The houses run from lots of new construction to older cottages, spanish style and craftsman houses.  There are many new restaurants along the Harrision Ave. corridor that are walkable. Cute shops, grocery stores and coffee shops dot the area.  The prices in Lakeview for a home have gone up considerably in the past few years making property values soar.

RIVER RIDGE

 

  River Ridge is a wonderful area along the Mississippi river .  Houses dot streets off of Jefferson Hwy. before entering Kenner.  There are wonderful tree lined streets such as Citrus, Sauve and Orchard which boasts stately homes on large lots.  River Ridge is close to the Earhart expressway and Airline Hwy.  There are many restaurants and pubs along the Citrus area and Hickory.   There is a variety of houses including small ranch style to big sprawling houses.   

UPTOWN/GARDEN DISTRICT

 

New Orleans does not get any prettier than a visit to the St. Charles Avenue and uptown area.  A ride on the streetcar will provide the most spectacular views of grand mansions in NOLA.  These historic mansions have been in the city for generations .  Audubon Park, Tulane University, Loyola University are all part of this scenic area.  Venture over to Magazine street for quirky local boutiques and wonderful New Orleans restaurants. Commanders Palace Restaurant is popular with both locals and tourists.  Uptown has the most prestigous and highest priced homes in the city ----for that matter the state.  

MARIGNY/BYWATER

 

 

Located near the Industrial Canal and The Mississippi river, the Marigny and Bywater area has become a popular place to reside.  Dotted by music clubs on Frenchman street and ecclectic restaurants, these historic homes have become a favorite place to own and also rent as a B & B.  The Marigny is home to the St. Anne parade on Mardi Gras morning which attracts a colorful crowd and fun costumes. 

BUCKTOWN

 

 

Bucktown is located along the lakefront in Metairie.  Bounded by Bonnabel Blvd. and Lake Ave, Buctown is now called the " new Lakeview " due to the amount of young families buying there and new construction.  Old houses are being torn down to make way for new ones .  If you want to be close enough to walk the levee this is a great neigborhood for you.  Ride your bike along the levee or out to the scenic Bonnabel boat launch. Homes in Bucktown are seeing a steady appreciation in values.
