Real Estate Tips

Preparing Your Home For Sale:

Your goal  when selling your home is to stand out from other properties on the market for sale, to realize the best price, and to get it under contract and sell quickly.

Prior to placing your home on the market for sale, you need to Prep, Clean, and De-Clutter.

First impressions are everything to prospective buyers.

On the exterior, curb appeal is key. The first thing prospective buyers see is the outside of your property when they drive up to it.

Clean your entry ways, driveways, and sidewalks. Weed your flower beds and prune your scrubs and bushes. Perhaps even plant flowers to add color. Also, you may add a seasonal wreath on your front door to make your home more welcoming.

On the interior, de-personalize your rooms. Buyers want to feel like they can live in the home.  So remove family photos and personal items. If your closets are full, remove as much as half of the items in them so that closets look more spacious. Clean everything - windows (inside and out), baseboards, doors & casings. If you can see the dust and dirt, so can prospective buyers. Freshen up paint if it is chipping, dirty, and faded. Clean off your counter tops in the kitchen. Put small appliances and other items in the cabinets. And organize your cabinets and pantry. Also put all items away in the bathrooms too.

And finally, the back yard. Pick away toys and other items.  Rake leaves and manicure gardens. Clean the patio furniture, and open the umbrella over the table, if you have one.

If you implement  all of these suggestions, your home will  be a stand out over other properties on the market!
